Citation Style and Reworks

Writing was connecting with us campus life, so I chose talk about Citation Style and Reworks. This page was introduced about writing style. The two main writing styles were APA style and MLA style.

APA style was American Psychological Association. APA style provides a standard system for giving credit to others for their contribution to your work. It's what we call a "parenthetical" documentation style, meaning that citations to original sources appear in your text. This allows the reader to see immediately where your information comes from, and it saves you the trouble of having to make footnotes or endnotes. The APA style calls for three kinds of information to be included in in-text citations. The author's last name and the work's date of publication must always appear, and these items must match exactly the corresponding entry in the references list. The third kind of information, the page number, appears only in a citation to a direct quotation. (THE WRITING CENTER)

MLA Style the first line of each paragraph in the research paper is to be indented one-half inch from the left margin.

MLA style is the Format your essay according to the correct guide lines for citation. The MLA research paper format is the most popular style, as it is most widely used in all levels of study and by all academic departments.

MLA in –text citation:

· If the author’s name is mentioned in the text, only the page number is given in parentheses at the end of the citation.

· If the author’s name is not mentioned in the text, then both the last name of the author and the page number should be given in parentheses.
